ABC to renew ‘General Hospital,’ cancel ‘The Revolution’

This just in – it looks like ABC is going to save their last remaining soap – at least for the time being.

Deadline is reporting that ABC will cancel ‘The Revolution’ – the show that replaced the much loved ‘One Life to Live’ several months ago. ‘The Revolution’ has tanked in the ratings from the get-go.

This means, when Katie Couric takes GH’s current time slot at 3 p.m. in September, that ‘General Hospital’ will move to the 2 p.m. time slot.

It’s important to note fans, that this doesn’t save the show forever. Just for the immediate future. Fans still need to tune in and talk about the soap – so the higher ups (hopefully) will consider letting it remain in the slot for the long haul and not try replacing it with some dull reality show next year.

This also means that more ‘One Life to Live’ characters will probably be making their way to the soap – especially since there no longer is an end in sight.

What do you think? Is this good news or what?
