What television shows are safe and which ones are on the bubble?

It’s that time of year again. No, I’m not talking about the return of the Shamrock Shake at McDonald’s.

I’m talking about network decision time. You know, when the fate of your favorite show is being decided.

Some shows have already been renewed, including CBS’ ‘The Big Bang Theory,’ ‘How I Met Your Mother’ and ‘Survivor.’

Other shows, while they haven’t been renewed, seem like safe bets for renewal. That list is long and can be viewed below.

There have already been some notable cancellations this year, including ABC’s ‘Desperate Housewives’ and the DOA ‘Charlie’s Angels,’ NBC’s much loved ‘Chuck,’ Fox’s long-in-the-tooth ‘House,’ and the CW’s should have been put out to pasture last year ‘One Tree Hill.’

It’s the remaining group, though, that has most fans in a tizzy. This is the group that looks like it will probably get cancelled, but fans still have hope that a big push might save it.

That list boasts two of CBS’ CSI shows (New York and Miami respectively), ABC’s ‘The River,’ the CW’s high concept ‘Nikita’ and ‘Ringer’ and Fox’s much hyped but overly flat ‘Terra Nova.’

On any given year, I’m usually worked up by the possible cancellation of a beloved show. This year, the only show I actually like that’s on the “danger” list is ‘Ringer.’ That being said, the show is becoming so convoluted I’d probably be better off to let it go. I just hope we get some resolution by the end of the season.

I have a feeling, though, there are some other shows on the “danger” list that are going to cause some upheaval for some fans, especially ‘Cougar Town,’ ‘Fringe,’ ‘Pan Am’ and ‘Rules of Engagement.’

Other shows, like ‘Are You There Chelsea,’ which was much funnier as a book, and ‘Whitney’ just haven’t been able to garner a loyal audience.
